Good afternoon,

We are excited to share news about our searches for new leadership in the Division of Performing Arts. As the search has evolved, we received guidance from Provost Bertolini indicating that the new leader of the Challey School of Music will need to hold an advanced degree in music. We fully respect the School's decision to prioritize a music professional in this leadership role and also see this as a wonderful opportunity to seek new leadership for the Department of Theatre Arts.

In light of this, we are pleased to share the following plans:

We will move forward with a national search for the Head of the Challey School of Music.
We will also launch a national search for the Head of the Department of Theatre.
We will reassess the Division of Performing Arts in consultation with the newly selected leaders, faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders at the beginning of the next academic year, to ensure alignment and forward momentum for the Division.
We are confident that these searches will contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the Division of Performing Arts. This is an exciting time for all involved, and we are eager to collaborate with the newly selected leaders and team to shape a bright future for both the Challey School of Music and the Department of Theatre Arts.
